Our first shoot together - Belly Pix!!!

Hey, it's Jenn here. Paige and I did our first joined photoshoot yesterday. Sharon was an awesome model. She took excellent direction and was able to work flawlessly with 2 photographers. Not to mention 3 kids coming in and out of our makeshift studio!!
Everything went well and the raw footage we previewed looks amazing!! I know for sure I have at least 3 killer shots and a few more great ones :)

I vote that it was a success for our first collaboration. Of course a few kinks to be worked out (like having the set ready to go before the model arrives!) but nothing that can't be overcome with a conversation.

So here's to Sharon [glass raised]. Have a happy and painless delivery on the 28th. May the worst that happens is it starts 5 minutes later than you wanted :) And welcome to the world, Daniel!

Summertime = vacation time!

This summer, one of my goals was to get Brayden to the point where he wouldn't fear the water. Too many times, I would try to get him to come off of the pool steps, only to have him clutch me in his kung-fu grip, and make me flash a pool full of strangers. Finally, I came across the Body Glove float suit. Thinking to myself that this would be as easy as putting it on him, and then having him get in the pool. I thought he would figure out that he could float, this would not be the case. He still insisted on clutching on for dear life. I have to admit that the only way to get him to understand that he could float was to just toss him in the water. So, that is what I did. After going under for a split second, then popping to the surface, a slightly terrified yet thrilled little boy said "do it again mom!" So I did. And from then on, he has been fearless in the water. Almost too fearless......

It has done me wonders to take time out and just play with my computer and pictures. I love photoshop CS4!It's like the developers listened to suggestions. Red eye removal, tabbing between pictures and easy .jpg conversion! I LOVE IT!!!! I have also learned how to put my name on my pictures!! This is huge for me! I don't have a logo yet, but am working on it. So, in the mean time, this will have to work. Here is my little girl Kiley who looks more like a teenager in this shot than an 8 year old. It's amazing how fast time really does fly!

Welcome to my first blog!
First, I want to say thank you to my friend Carrie Stroud, who is an amazing photographer and person. She has helped me out in more ways than she will ever know. If not for her guidence, I would still be talking about being a photographer than actually doing it. I also want to say thank you to all of my friends and family who have supported me and encouraged me to persue my dream of doing this for a living. I'm on the first step of my journey, and am excited to see where it takes me.

Now that that is done, I'm excited to blog about my first shoot! My best friend Karen was eager and willing to be in front of my camera. With make-up and hair done by our friend Jenn Grainger (who I hope to work with on a more regular basis) her pictures turned out great! Here is a sneek preview of her pictures.
